We trust that this finds you in good health and managing to survive the unique and challenging time in which the world finds itself. This special Newsletter is to update you with the latest useful Chalklands information.

CRA LOCKDOWN SUPPORT

Need some advice? Have a letter to post?  Do you need any help with ANYTHING?  Five weeks ago the CRA Committee organised itself into a restructured team to focus on providing support to all Chalklands residents and, in particular, to those potentially “at risk”.  During the first week or so of uncertainty there were numerous requests for help with shopping and prescriptions but as local organisations and businesses got their acts together, and as neighbour stepped in to help neighbour throughout Chalklands, things have become much more relaxed.  The Chalklands community spirit remains as strong as ever and the CRA team remains committed to provide Lockdown support for as long as it takes, so please do not hesitate to ask any Committee member for our help at any time.

PRESCRIPTIONS

The CRA prescription collection service has now been absorbed into the village-wide Bourne End and Wooburn SOS service so if you are unable to collect a prescription that you have already requested please contact Daska Emery at No 31 or the SOS line direct:

LOCAL FOOD AVAILABILTY

We have circulated a six-page directory of local pubs / restaurants / fish & meat suppliers / Fruit & vegetable suppliers all of whom have completely changed their working arrangements and many of whom are offering free home deliveries.  The list is available on the CRA website (see end of newsletter) but if you have difficulty using the website or if you require a printed copy then please contact a member of the Committee.

ANNUAL SPRING CLEAN-UP DAY

Our ongoing objective is to keep Chalklands the cleanest road in Bourne End but in the current climate we have been forced to abandon the advertised date of SUNDAY APRIL 26th for volunteers to give the road its usual Spring-clean.  The objective is to de-weed the gutters and kerbs and to remove the debris and rubbish that has collected over the winter. We are therefore asking residents to keep their frontages clean, and also those of their neighbours if they are unable to do this for themselves.

WEEKLY THURSDAY CLAP

This has been a great success as we show our gratitude to the fabulous NHS and other key workers.  In particular we owe our thanks to our local nurses, Julia at No. 113 and Louise at No. 125 who both work on the Front Line.

Thank you ladies, we are so proud of you!

IF YOU HAVE ANY NEED OF HELP PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT A COMMITTEE MEMBER !
